About Chris Proctor: Chris Proctor is known nationwide as one of the modern masters of fingerpicking guitar, and is at the forefront of the modern steel-string guitar movement. He was the 1982 national champion, and has toured constantly since then, releasing a steady stream of recordings, mostly of his own compositions and arrangements. Proctor's music spans a considerable spectrum of guitar styles, rooted in the classic American fingertsyle sound, but drawing from folk, celtic, jazz, pop, and classical influences. He appeared on the very popular Windham Hill Guitar Sampler, and has been an endorser and clinician for Taylor Guitars for many years, and now has a "Chris Proctor Signature Model" guitar named after him. ChrisÕs warm stage presence and sense of humor, combined with his very intelligent and finely crafted original guitar works have made him a favorite with guitar fans everywhere. Proctor hails from Utah, and this will be his first Seacoast appearance in many years.
