About Pat Donohue: Pat Donohue is considered one of the finest fingerstyle guitarists who ever lived, and his blues, swing, folk and swing playing electrifies audiences everywhere. Chet Atkins himself said "Pat Donohue is one of the great fingerpickers in the world today." Pat is a former National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion, and has recorded five solo albums of original and classic jazz, blues, swing and folk music. Add to this that he is a 20 year veteran performer, a wonderful singer and a prolific songwriter, extremely funny, and a regular member of the band on Garrison Keillor's ever-popular Prairie Home Companion, who contributes many of the comedy songs for the show and plays the brilliant guitar work you hear there every week.

Donohue plays music ranging from the early Delta blues work of Robert Johnson and Blind Blake, to profound transcriptions of works from Eubie Blake, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington and Thelonius Monk, to traditional fiddle tunes and folk music classics. His Beatles Medley is always a show-stopper, and scattered in his eclectic repertoire are gems from Doc Watson, Edith Piaf, and assorted contemporary pop and folk artists, plus his own well-crafted compositions and songs. Pat's guitar work is what really sets him apart from the rest, but his concert show goes well beyond just instrumental music, and his original songs have even been recorded by Chet Atkins, Kenny Rogers and Suzy Bogguss. He lives in St. Paul, Minnesota, and this is his first appearance in the Seacoast in 2 years, and a "don't miss" show for local guitar lovers and acoustic music fans.
